YOUR THERAPIST
Peggy Rost
Hello and welcome! My name is Peggy (she/her) and I'm a Clinical Social Worker licensed in the states of Maine, Oregon, and Florida. I have worked in the health care and human services fields for nearly twenty years. Life is full of transitions that entail both joy and suffering and none of it has to be faced alone. The decision to pursue therapy is a courageous one and I'd be happy to talk more with you to see if we'd be a good fit.

LIFE TRANSITIONS
Change and uncertainty can foster excitement and growth, and can also be incredibly hard. Even changes that are viewed as positive can invite feelings of grief and anxiety. I enjoy supporting clients through various changes that occur during the adult lifespan including the beginnings and endings of relationships, job transitions, personal losses, graduations, and aging.
OLDER ADULTS (65+)
It’s a common view that living to an older age makes somebody lucky. While I believe this is true in many respects, I feel it’s important to acknowledge the hardships that can arise later in life such as losses of loved ones, questions about purpose, changes in physical ability, and a more profound awareness of one’s own mortality. It is never too late to evolve or heal.
CHRONIC CONDITIONS & FAMILY CAREGIVING
Living with a chronic physical condition is challenging and therapy can provide an opportunity for clients to access their resilience and wisdom. I’m a firm believer in the mind-body connection and help clients develop more connected relationships with their bodies. I have extensive experience working with those affected by Parkinson’s disease.
I also have a strong passion for supporting those who care for their family members. Supporting a loved one who has a chronic condition, especially one that impacts cognitive functioning, is physically and emotionally challenging and often lonely. I help clients process the range of feelings that accompany a caregiving role.
